E3.3DRoutingBridge "Group by attribute" by HLA
I have been trying to get the E3.3DRoutingBridge to sort by Higher level assignment in the "Group by attribute". I set the GroupAttribute=<Assignment> within the E3_3DRoutingBridge configuration file but it hasn't worked. Did I input something incorrectly or is there a different way to accomplish this?

Hi Tanner,
At this time with some of the export options, you will not be able to sort by the Higher Level Assignment. The "Group by attribute" option is for attributes added to the devices (lower section of the Device Properties dialog). The HLA is not an attribute, therefore it cannot be used with this option. There is an open enhancement request to add the group option by HLA. If you would like I can have you added to the list of customers wanting this enhancement?
A current option could be to create harness assemblies with the same value as your HLAs and then use the Harness Assemblies option if available.
If you have any additional issues or questions about E3.3DRoutingBridge please do not hesitate to reach out to us on ZGS Hotline.
Kind regards,
Laura Mirto

Hello Laura,
How would I go about making harness assemblies in Zuken?
I would also like to be added to the list of customers wanting this enhancement.
Thank you

Hi Tanner,
If you are logged into the Community you should have access to the e-Training videos. If not, please let me know. There is a section on creating dynamic assemblies in the E3.series Schematic training module. You can use the bookmarks to jump ahead to this section.
Some customers like to use assemblies to organize the project's device tree as well. Here is another helpful video for when you have dynamic assemblies in the device tree.
I will add you to the list. You will receive an email with the call number. We will use the hotline call that I create as a form of communication on the updates for that enhancement. At this time you will not need to do anything with the call.
Kind regards,
Laura Mirto

Hello Laura,
I don't have access to any of the videos that you posted. Is that something that you can grant to me?
Thanks,

Hello Laura,
I made assemblies like you recommended but I am unable to add individual wires to the assemblies, so they don't appear on the Harness assemblies tab of E3.3DRoutingBridge. Cables are added to the assemblies fine. How do I add individual wires to the assemblies?
Thanks,
Tanner Webb

Hi Tanner,
This video shows you how to place wires into a dynamic cable. Which then can be added to the assembly.

I don't know if you still trying to figure this out this way I addressed your original question was to create a new Yes/No attribute with owners of Structure Node and Cable. Apply this attribute to your HLA and it flows to all of the cable devices in the HLA, allowing you to use the Grouped By attribute like you want.
