Installed Report Generator add-on, getting the basic hang of it, really like the ease of accessing any and all attributes in the database, but it is tricky getting the data I want or formatted correctly.
I spent some time with a BOM report and mostly have it where I want it for parts.
right now I am fighting with modifying a connection list report. I have drawn a harness solely in cable using lots of grouped connector views instead of discrete pins.
When I try to run the report, it is displaying most of end pins connectors in their grouped forms, e.g., *2/2, or *15/15, etc. Seemingly because of this it is also making it extremely difficult to get the core information that is connecting all the connectors and splices. There are several hundred wires in this drawing and I was barely seeing any of the interconnect data.
it does eventually start to show the individual pins, but it doesn’t show the core wire data in that connection.
how can I get the report to actually spit out the individual pins and the proper wire data between them? Or hide the grouped pins since it isn’t useful.
Another struggle is displaying the wire gauge, using core.cross-section it displays the metric value. The only way I got the imperial measurement was to add core.cross-section.description. Which didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. If I removed core.cross-section I also lost the imperial value, so I appear to need both when I only want one.
I really need to get these reports working so I can send my drawings off to manufacturers. I need the reports to save hours of time changing the drawings, and I need to send off the data right away.
