    Hello Robert,

    Ah I see.

Area Array Pad on Via - Multiple will do.  But you would need to change the setting of Via Grid.

Then Someting like below picture setting I get this preview.

To see the via grid on canvas, please set as below.

I hope this help you input via you are looking for.

    Hello Robert,

Are these via you try to input through hole or Interstitial?

If not through hole make sure you had check mark ON for Enable Interstitial Via under Via/Area Spec tab in Board Design Rule Editor.

And via grid setting value should comes from these section of your data.

    Regards,

    Taka

    Hello Robert,

Did you set the To: to be bottom layer number?

In my case I'm using 4 layers board, so I set To: to be 4.

Do you get any error message when you try to use this command?

    Regards,

    Taka

    Hello Takashi,

I also have 4 layer board. Tried multiple times. Did not succeed.

One of the errors was : can't find object.

I am missing something in the process. It shouldn't be so complicated.

    Hello Robert,

I think I found the cause and solution.

The component pin you are selecting had already somekind of line or via conencted and you have selecting Skip mode in the panel menu.  In that case, I do get same error message.

Try set Add instead of Skip.

    Regards,

    Taka

Tried. Still does not work. This pad does not have any traces connected and via hole in it.

    Hello Takashi,

I find my mistake: component was paced on the bottom. So in specified nets: i always was marking To 4.

Instead i should of change it To 1, since via going from pad on bottom   (layer 4) to the top ( Layer 1).

    Thank you,

    Robert

Hi...normally a joe-average PCB starts with a prepreg that has a very thin copper cladding on both sides, that is modified to resemble all your traces/zones/etc via etching (fast & cheap to etch away a thin copper layer).
This then is put into a bath that contains solved copper which will chemically bind to the cladding and increase it’s thickness to usually 0.35u.
