I have a formboard design using a total of 6 "cables" (each a twisted pair) along with a "harness" (overbraid) containing multiple individual wires. Is there a way to either:
- output a single wire report on the formboard that wraps up all the details for all wires and cables in a single table? (Harness Builder throws an error when I try to select multiple cables during Wire Report generation... strange, since there is a column with an attribute that calls out the cable name in the basic Harness Builder library wire report symbols.)
- output multiple wire reports (one for each cable/harness) on the formboard, in this case 7 tables - not ideal, but could be a short term work around.
When I select a cable and output its wire report, then proceed to select the next cable and output its wire report, the first is cleared from the page and replaced with the second cable's details. I sort of worked around this by getting the wire report table header to not be replaced by the second report by including the "Cable Name" text attribute in the header symbol and by changing that symbol's characteristic to another characteristic of the same header symbol... Unfortunately, this does not make the wire report rows stick.
For the time being, I am going to try to work around it by outputting separate Excel BOMs for each of the 7 "cables" and copy/pasting them together external to the drawing.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
