Device pin signal assignment control from option/variant

Does somebody know how to have a different signal automatically assigned to a device pin depending on the selection of an option/variant?

This functionality is needed when for example in one variant there is a connection between 2 device pins and with another variant a relay contact gets inserted.

  You would have to add another component with that Variant to have a different signal name going to that pin. Cannot have 2 signal names going to the same pin.
