New Component Search Attribute to Component/Symbol

Hi All,

I created a new Attribute for Component Search Configuration - Component Name, but when I search for a component in the field, it shows nothing. Component Name is that we assign during New component creation in component wizard. Can someone help me in getting this attribute work like the default attributes in Search Configuration? (I am not sure where I went wrong but I made it similar to the existing attributes in the Attribute list)

  i'm not sure how you defined your new attribute called "Component Name". regardless, this is not necessary. the Component Name you are searching for is not an attribute. the component search configuration should already have the Component Name within the list. it might be just under a different name. once you've deleted your new attribute search for "Component Name" again, or "Entry" or something else. Another one is "Article Number". when we created parts we would copy the component name into Article Number so if you're doing that to then using Article Number will work.

  Hi,

  as blarran said, it is not necessary to create new Attribute.
