Vesys to E3
Hi,
Has anyone successfully migrated a Vesys Classic Components database to E3. I'm new to E3 but have an extensive Vesys database to port across, anything I should be aware of/pitfalls??
Thanks in advance.

its been awhile since i did any e3 library work.
i'm not sure if Zuken has a way to import other cad databases into their database. you might be able to port over component names but not the symbols. the symbols would have to be recreated and then assigned to the components.
we ran into this with switching from AutoCAD AE to EPlan. the managers wanted to re-use the AutoCAD symbols but EPlan said we needed to recreate them.
the Zuken E3 database is quite complicated. we were warned by Geof Lydon from Zuken not to mess around with hacking into the database. he said they had a customer that somehow uploaded a spreadsheet into their database which ended up corrupting couple thousand parts.
again, i've been out of the loop for awhile. there might be tools to facilitate creation of many parts using spreadsheet format but i can't see how to get around the creation of symbols.
