How do I mark a component as obsolete and still have it in the database.

    If the obsolete component should still be visible to your electrical engineers, you could define an attribute for the component defining its "state". That attribute could even have several values: "obsolete", "not recommended for new designs", "active", etc.

    But then how do you check if the components currently used in a project are not "obsolete"? Can be solved in several ways: add the defined attribute to the "View > Device Table" or do an "Edit > Search" for devices having the defined attribute. 

    If the visibility in the user's database is no longer required, set the component state to "Old":
