Automatic Connector Pin Terminals
I am starting to build a database for 2016 E3 Cabling. One of the features that I want to get to work for my schematics is the Automatic Connector Pin Terminals when a wire is placed on the connection according to the cross section of the wire. I know for the feature to work I have to turn on the settings and below is the screen-shot for it.
In my database I have the cross section of the wire specified. Then in the terminal I specified the min and max of the cross section area.
Here are the properties of the terminal for the connector.
Here are the properties of the connector.
When I insert the connector, make the connection, and add the wire. The terminal isn't getting selected.
I am wondering if I am missing some information in the attributes or setting. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Brent,
The answer to this is a little lengthy.
The terminal essentially needs to have a model on it. Below is a link for a terminal pin model.

The model then needs to be added to the terminal component. this creates a link between the 2 that gives it the min/max reference.
In the tools->settings in the project you will have to make sure that both of the settings below are turned on:

Thanks Jon for the videos! It works now. I didn't know I had to create the model and link it to the component. I thought I could just set the cross section values in the Device Properties without a model.

Is there a way to get the Wire Seals to come in automatically too? I did the same steps as the terminal for the wire seals but I couldn't get it to work. I assigned the model view to the wire seal and then have the Wire Seal attribute in the connector.

Hi Brent,
There is functionality with the E3.harness builder to automatically add the wire seals to terminals if you have a license of the HB. If you do own the HB license, I will see if I can dig out the information to place in this thread for you.
Also this functionality, will be added to the core e3.series product in 2017, it will be a little bit different the way you select them, but it is on the road map for release.
